LIHUIEN is an independent footwear brand specialising in hand made artisanal sneakers; mixing modern design aesthetics with traditional craftsmanship.

Based in East London, I offer bespoke shoemaking services, where clients can have a hand in the design of their own shoes. I mainly work with leather, but materials can be chosen according to your preference.

To make shoes, lasts, which are solid forms shaped like the human foot, are used. When you come in for your first consultation, I will go through the specifics of choosing a last for your shoes. Factors to consider are the preferred toe shape, the width of your feet and the required heel height. I have a selection of lasts and am also able to modify them in-house to create a better fit or out-source lasts if a specific shape is required. I am also happy to use your own bespoke lasts if you have had them made specifically for yourself.
